Patchy
Corey Mesler

Sometimes the light
is not strong enough.
Sometimes the floor
is too far away.
I have something to say.
It’s on the tip of my
iceberg. I allow you
to go on about my re-
prehensible behavior.
It’s just the ash end of
a poorly constructed
yesterday. It’s just the
way I feel, sometimes,
when the light is
not strong enough and
the floor is too
too far away. I write this
with chalk on your
shell. I write this on the
sidewalk with my fingerprints.
