No Helmet
Jessica L. Walsh

I walked skull-bare
bone-proud
brow to the rocks
legs bent for chalklines

I came with my plates fused
to pronounce the place worthless

I drank at the rotten spring
gurgling from the slaggy cliff

Try me and see
if you survive
to swallow
